This location is decent . The amenities are descent , this location has the best basketball gym out of all the locations to me. I will give this location two stars, unfortunately Most of the Wac employees are racist & rude. As I walk into this location, I am not greeted properly at all , as a matter of fact their expressions are so unwelcoming, just for me to hand them my membership card to get it snatched out of my hands as if I’m nasty or they have a problem with me. When they hand me my locker key they are throwing them in my hand. When it’s time for me to leave, they are placing my membership card on the counter instead of my hand. I actually had to say something to one white lady that worked there, as I was leaving, I handed her my key, she snatched the key out of my hand and put my card on the table.. I told her how that was rude & she needs to hand me my card in my hand, how she would do any other white person…she proceeded to act like she didn’t do anything wrong. From that day on every time she sees me while she’s at the front desk, she walks away in the back so she won’t service me, she plays the victim as if I was in the wrong for calling her out on her racist rude ways. It has gotten to a point where, when I go to exercise, I would tell the front desk I don’t have my card, just to have them type my name in because I’m just so tired of the rudeness. I don’t get a locker, just so I won’t have to face them being rude. It’s literally so much more to it . I’m actually looking for another gym . They are too racist for me.

I signed up for a membership with the WAC several months back and decided it was not for me after a month. I stopped into the club to cancel and was told the request had been put in. I am not typically the one the handles finances in my relationship but have taken over the duties recently because my partner has started cancer treatment. I noticed a charge from the WAC this week and called to inquire. I spoke with a young man who didn’t give me his name but was cutting me off from the first sentence. He looked my account up and said I was active and had been paying for months. I explained I had been assured it was cancelled and I hadn’t seen the charge before, but hadn’t used the services at all. He cut across me speaking again and was snarky about it being obviously not my fault that I didn’t notice that I’d been charged and that I was obviously at fault. When there was a break in him talking over me I said I did not appreciate this conversation and made it clear I’d like to cancel. He said, over me again, “you have a great day ma’am”. And hung up. Not even upset that they can’t refund the months I was paying for, mostly shocked at the attitude and the unkindness. Someone made an error when they didn’t send the request to cancel and the WAC should’ve made that right, but they didn’t. I don’t have proof because I went into the club instead of calling and I get that. Irritating that I dropped hundreds of dollars, but I could have seen that if I was looking for it. But for christs sake, You don’t know who you’re talking to on the other end of the phone and what their day or life has been like, and some people are going through hell. Treat people with decent respect. Never will use the WAC again and can’t recommend the customer service in the Business Services department.

I typically go to the Tosa location and never have any issues, last week I was trying to play basketball when an older women said that she couldn’t give me a ball because the gym was closing. I kindly said okay and didn’t play and went to workout. 30 minutes later I come back and there are people playing basketball…. I felt as though the woman just didn’t want me in there and made me frustrated because I only wanted to shoot the ball for 5-10 mins. Make a room for Yoga, and keep at least one of the rooms open for basketball / soccer because obviously it is also in high demand. Other than that can’t complain most of the staff is super cool just a few bad apples. I also agree I kinda get racist vibes but it’s understandable because I’m use to it being a minority . DO BETTER

Id give it 5 stars IF they designated ☝️ basketball hoop for basketball 🏀 but unless you can get here at DAWN or mid afternoon which isn’t easy for most people with a 9-5 you’ll be watching yoga or some other class taking place under the hoops. this is probably ME issue …. The staff at TOSA is extremely friendly and helpful. They get to know you when you attend regularly. It’s clean, I believe they just replaced some weights recently. Salt water pool, steam room, sauna. Equipment is always in working order. They do offer classses for yoga and kickboxing etc
